When I joined the Army in 2017, I prioritized investing early. I maxed out my TSP contributions and saved additional money to invest in individual stocks through Fidelity. I treated investing as my largest “expense” and learned to live on what remained after those deductions.

That mindset shaped my lifestyle. I have driven beaters my entire life, avoided designer clothes, kept things simple with Walmart shorts and plain shirts, and cooked nearly every meal instead of eating out. My goal was simple: build wealth early by keeping my lifestyle below my income and consistently investing the difference.

Cut subscription, budget, & pay yourself first before someone/something else.
