I’m a huge fan of this painting of The Divine comedy, and I couldn’t help but notice how eerily similar the humans to the left are to the titans, even down to the body language. Also quite cool how they are portrayed next to a huge wall.

I had read somewhere online that there were a lot of parallels between Dante’s Inferno and the Nine Circles of Hell, and the story of Attack on Titan (humans being trapped within ringed walls, stuck in a hell of their own making).

I wonder whether Isayama took any direct inspiration from Dante’s Divine Comedy? Would love to hear people’s thoughts!
