I committed to Penn State even though they didn’t offer me any financial aid, but I know the university is very stingy with aid for first year students. Do they get any more generous as you progress through your 4 years there? My first year will cost about $38,000. I’m an in-state student who has to pay for my own college in its entirety, and I already took out a private loan for my first year (stupid, I know). Should I expect more financial aid or should I already start planning to transfer after my freshman year?
