Hi All - I’ve been experiencing upper back/right shoulder (under my shoulder blade) and spine pain for 6-8 months. Varying degrees of discomfort.
Under my right shoulder blade aches even when I’m not using my right arm, and when I bend my head forward (to the left or right), moderate pain goes down my back on either side of my spine. It feels uncomfortable to sit again, and if I don’t sit up straight my upper/middle spine starts to go numb until I sit or stand up.
It is not constant, it seems to get worse throughout the day and the only sharp pain is occasionally on either shoulder blade, otherwise it’s just a dull ache down my spine/right shoulder, now starting on my left. It almost feels like it’s coming from internally on my middle back now? It’s hard to explain.
I haven’t done anything strenuous which makes the level of discomfort concerning to me - does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do? It doesn’t feel hospital level - I just feel a bit unwell in general, along with these symptoms.
I have tried: two trigger point massages, which absolutely helped for a short period. Hot and cold compresses, stretching, exercises for rhomboid pain, massages, PT for a brief period, and I’ve had a thoracic spine MRI last month, which showed nothing but low grade arthritis in my T-9 - T-12.
I did a lot of “power flow” yoga in a short span of time, and I think it may have been the start of this? It’s hard to tell. Any thoughts you have are helpful.
