Is it normal for the proposal cycle to be this slow?

New to the industry and ive been working with a senior engineer. I understand they probably have a lot on their plate but sometimes it takes them weeks to get back to me on stuff. Im constantly needing to reach out or else i wont hear from them. The work im doing now is moving slow since it is all preliminary. We dont have many requirements right now. What has your experience been on a proposal program? What do you recommend i work on in the mean time that can still go towards a program?

[LA] is this retaliation?

A coworker put in their two weeks. It became known that they were leaving to go to a competitor. A few days after they put in their notice, they were walked out. The company is claiming they are being fired for misuse of AI tools. It is unknown if there is support for this case.

This coworker's close friend (same company) was walked out the day after. This person was planning on leaving but never announced it officially. The company is claiming the person put sensitive info on their resume. It is unknown if there is support for this too.

Knowing more info, it seems like they walked out the second person because of their relation to the first...and the resume was used as a fake reason.

Is this sequence of events typical?

How to feel more like an engineer after being in a CAD designer position?

After college, i got a CAD designer position and spent a few years there. Now, im in a mechanical engineer position and dont feel like anything changed. I dont have a mentor. The program im working is in the proposal stage. What type of analysis can i be doing to develop my real engineering skills?

Im at an aerospace company currently modeling nozzle assemblies and external hardware. Ive been practicing some ansys on cantilever beams but i dont have anything i can apply it to yet.

I feel like my CAD role didnt teach me anything useful in supporting my cad models from a technical aspect. Im having trouble understanding the expectations of my new role too.
