How long does it take to feel a difference once the root cause has been treated?

I’m new to this whole anemic thing and what the fuck, this shit sucks…. I have internal bleeding somewhere in my GI, the cause is unknown but I have a treatment plan in place so I’m not worried. I’m more concerned about how long recovery is? I slipped into anemia or whatever pretty fast. I don’t remember my hemoglobin level but it was low enough to warrant a transfusion and a night in the hospital. I also got an iron infusion as my ferritin was at a 1.2 which apparently isn’t great. I’m pretty young and so new to my career and I’m worried about how long recovery is gonna take and how long I’m gonna feel like I’ve been hit by a brick. It’s been a week since the hospital and I’m still actively bleeding somewhere, maybe I haven’t started the process of healing yet due to the active bleeding. But still… once you guys figured out and treated the cause, how long did it take for your levels to return back to normal? My doctor has been very brief with me and so I don’t expect in depth conversations about this with him lol.
