Advice Needed for Employee Playing Every HR Trick
Under the advice of my manager, I placed an underperforming member of my team on a performance improvement plan. They sat through the PIP meeting and asked no questions and raised no objections, but have since signed themselves off sick, made a data access request and raised a grievance. I feel like they have pulled out every trump card they can at this point, and I am wondering what will likely happen? I will add that underperfornance was raised during their last review and the PIP was triggered because they hadn’t improved since then. From my perspective, it‘s not a means to manage them out, I genuinely wanted to seriously address the issues and coach them to the level they needed to be at. The hostility and unwillingness to engage with it is a concern for me. I’m wondering if anyone who has experienced anything similar can offer advice?
