i work in aged care as an AIN, and i also do medications shifts as well. today i didn’t check that levedopa carbidopa 100/25 morning dose was already administered by the RN from the webster pack, i accidentally popped out the tablet from next day and once the resident took the tablet, i realised that i have made a mistake i immediately told the manager about it and they called a meeting and i went and the manager told me it comes under a SIRS and it is a big mistake i should have checked before. I’m so concerned if anything happens to the resident i’ll be in a big trouble. i’m feeling so guilty right now i can’t eat and neither i can sleep.
