How much recoil might a man feel firing a handgun for the first time without experience?
This person in question has absolutely zero experience with guns and no training for it. So he doesn't know how to properly handle it nor which posture he should take. He just takes it and has to fire it a few times without much thought.
So I imagined the recoil would be enough to make his shoulder ache for a few hours, but then I saw people saying a pistol doesn't have that much of a recoil? So I'm not sure how he should be feeling after firing it.
I've got near zero knowledge on guns myself, so I'm not sure which calibers count as high and low. So I couldn't decide which model of handgun it is either. I was just imagining an average pistol you'd see in most wild west movies.
EDIT!!: I've decided to make it a S&W .44 revolver after seeing some of the answers!
In case his physical body matters, he's got an average fit body but isn't buff. He's moderately stronger than a regular citizen.
