Chess Coaching | 2340 Lichess | First Session Free
Most of my chess has been played over the board with friends and family, a lot of whom are decently strong, my friend's brother is 1900 and we've played hundreds of games together. I made a Lichess account to have a tangible rating since I know that matters to people: lichess.org/@/TimeForSimpleChess
Currently sitting at 2340 rapid, top 0.4% of players. That said, I genuinely don't think rating is what makes someone a good coach.
I'm an Associate Instructor at my university, I love breaking down positions and explaining ideas, and talking about chess is something I'd do for free anyway. My game is built mostly on calculation over memorization though I love talking through lines, which reflects in the way I teach how to actually think through a position, not which lines to study.
Happy to work with anyone from complete beginners up to around 1600. First session is free, $20/hr after that, no commitment either way.
