Aren't you guys concerned about bears?

I grew up a tent camper and spent many, many nights tent camping in bear country. There are very specific protocols I follow - food stored in a bear box or car (or in a bag hung from a tree if backpacking). Norhing smelly in the tent. Cook away from the tent area. Things like that.

But here, I see people with fridges and stoves hard mounted into their vehicles - the same ones they sleep in/on. That kind of goes against everything I was taught.

Are y'all just not traveling in bear country, or am I being overly paranoid?

Davidson River adventure next weekend

I am planning a little adventure next week - I want to camp in my truck along one of the forest service roads and do some fly fishing.

My question - how crowded do you expect it to be? More to the point, how difficult will it be to secure a camp spot?
