So I've been collecting quotes from solar installers for a solar + battery setup, and I've been seeing two general themes:

Option 1: 12 panels, all south-facing

Option 2: 8 panels south-facing, 4 panels west-facing

Which do you think would be better? Gemini says that some west-facing panels could be a good idea for more afternoon exposure, but, probably predictably, the people quoting for all south-facing panels say that south-facing is just better, and the 20% loss in efficiency is not worth shifting the optimal generation time to later in the afternoon. What's the opinion of people on here?
