For the past few months I’ve noticed people have remarked that there’s an unpleasant odour whenever I’m around. It’s not aimed directly at me but it’s happened in enough independent scenarios for me to undoubtedly realise it’s me causing the smell.
Forgive bluntness but people say it “smells like ass” - I can’t smell it myself unfortunately but assume they mean it smells like a mix of sweat and faeces. Clearly this is extremely embarrassing for me and I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of it: three showers a day where I wash all over numerous times, talc my genital area, thorough cleaning after the bathroom including wet wipes, fresh cotton underwear twice a day, deodorants, good diet, low stress lifestyle. I have once hopped straight out of the shower and was in a communal area drying off (military, it’s normal) and someone said it smelt unpleasant.
I have what I have always assumed is a skin tag on my anus, however by comparing images online I believe it may be an anal wart. It’s been there a while, certainly a few years. I’m a sexually active gay man but I don’t receive anal sex, however I understand I am still at risk of HPV.
Clearly I’m going to go to a clinic and get it looked at, hopefully for it to be removed as it’s quite unsightly, but my main question is: could this wart/HPV be causing my unpleasant body odour?
Thanks in advance, I’m desperate to understand what is causing my body odour so I can eliminate it!
