[0/2] [Delft] [Sat/Sun, bi-weekly] Players wanted for existing Eberron DND 5e campaign
Note: this is a copy of my post on the discord. Figured I'd post it on reddit as well for visibility, but do let me know if I'm not supposed to do that.
Hiya! We're looking for one or two more players to join an existing mid-to-high-level D&D campaign on Saturdays or Sundays afternoons every two-to-three weeks. Our party goes on adventures in the swashbuckling, airships-and-conspiracies-filled world of Eberron, which I'll happily introduce you to. We are currently 40 sessions in at lvl. 10, and plan to continue with these characters until lvl. 15 or so. Our group consists of 4 men in the early 30s from a variety of backgrounds. We're accustomed to international and dutch players both, and are looking for new ones as some people have moved country for work and stuff.
About me (the GM). I recently finished my PhD at the TU Delft doing computer graphics research, and now work in open source. My hobbies include gaming, reading, running, bouldering, and RPGs. I also have a bit of a love for history, as it's sometimes just weirder than whatever I come up with. I've been GMing for the better part of 8 years, running DND and other games across different groups. Games I've run include Tales from the Loop, Avatar Legends, the One Ring, Mork Borg, Triangle Agency, Mothership, and my own hacky stuff.
Style of Play. I have few house rules and *usually* stick to 5E, but let rule-of-cool override more than is healthy. I am very open to letting players take over the narrative, and encourage them to come up with ideas. I'm by no means an experienced GM, but greatly enjoy the process and am very happy to take feedback so I can improve. I like the game's core rules, but by no means am a rules lawyer. If a rule gets in the way of you planting a bomb in the lich's lair using a mail-order cake, we'll find a way to make it work.
The Campaign. The players are racing to stop a grand conspiracy to unleash an Overlord, a primal evil buried deep beneath Eberron's world. Their quest is greatly complicated by a ridiculous prophecy, team-rocket-esque foes, and an actual time-traveling villain. They've braved the dangers of the ruinous Mournland, broken into the Vaults of the Dead in the elven lands of Aerenal, fought their way through the hidden Castle Illmarrow to face off against an ancient lich, and shot an actual hole through Eberron's realm of death. Somehow, the players now find themselves stranded four years in the past. They are the only ones who know of the evil that is coming, and now have to prepare the world to stop it. The party's had a few adventures, is what I'm saying.
Location. Delft! I have a cozy place available 10-15m from the train station and reachable by bus/bike. If someone has a better place we can always play there. I might move to Leiden at some point in the near future, but I think we're pretty flexible as a group.
Nr. of players. I am currently looking for two more players, for a total of five.
Schedule. Two-or-three weekly. For example, every other saturday or sunday for about 4 hours in the afternoon. Sessions continue if three or more players can make it.
Language. Primarily english. I am dutch, but I've always preferred english for these things.
House rules. No smoking! I do not currently have pets, so allergies should be OK. Outside of that, LGBTQ+ friendly, and treat other people (and my stuff) with respect. I want everyone to feel welcome, to enjoy showing up, and above all to have fun!
Who are we looking for? Preferably people in my age bracket (25-35ish) but that's not a hard limit. Somewhat experienced, though I am fine with a healthy balance of newish/experienced players at my table. What is most important is (A) the schedule and location generally work for you, and (B) you read this entire post, and it still sounds like your thing. If you're completely new to RPGs, and simply want to try it, I am probably not a good pick, as this group is in a long-term campaign.
Contact. You can DM me or reply to this post, whichever you prefer :)
