So long story short I lost my mind in 2020-2021 and realized I was miserable because I hadn't made art since I was a child. I quit my corporate job as a graphic designer with no notice (I wasn't mentally well ok) I later got a diagnosis of autism at age 37 lmao. So I've realized the reason I've felt so lonely my whole life is I've tried to be what normies want me to be, work the corporate job, move to the "good" suburban neighborhood etc.

The problem is I can't find weird art freaks like me where I live. It's suburban hell. Real estate agent strongarmed me into buying in a "good neighborhood" instead of one of those scary neighborhoods with dive bars and music venues.

I go to events like local figure drawing etc but most of the art events here are fine art and my drawings of fanart and demon girls and OCs don't really fit in. I guess the question is how do I make friends that if they're not artists themselves "get" art and artists, and values art. I can make a million "friends" on discord or whatever, but online friends can be so flakey and unreliable. I refuse to believe EVERYONE in my city besides the people in the gentrified overpriced art districts are normies who don't appreciate art. How do you make friends "like you"?
