Should Sea of Sorrow introduce a new mechanic in the game? (Like water physics)
I haven't seen anyone discussing this topic, but do you guys think Sea of Sorrow should introduce a new mechanic in the game?
I have some ideas that might be interesting if added:
1.) Water Physics
I feel like we already saw hornet swim during the abyss dive, so this system might add a new level of challenge for the players. I think something like using the dash as the only way to maneuver hornet could be fun, maybe using air bubbles as extra boost for the dash. Hornet can still stand on the ground and jump, but as you are underwater, you will slowly float around. Maybe add the double jump for extra maneuverability.
2.) Minecraft-like Breathing Mechanic
As any of you who played Minecraft before, adding limitations to how much hornet can explore and dive underwater might be a fun mechanic. But here's the catch, just like you can't reach other areas without Silk Soar or Double Jump; you can't also dive too deep without losing oxygen. Adding a new item would be great for this, something like a breathing mask would be cool. This removes any need to dive without losing any oxygen.
3.) Underwater Enemies and Bosses
With an already built mechanic underwater, what use would be all of these if you can't fight bosses? It might be fun dodging those attacks with these conditions built around it.
What do you guys think? Is it too much for a dlc? Maybe too hard to get used to? This is what the discussion is for, I'm looking forward to your replies!!
