Hey y’all, I’ve been looking into getting a Dodge Charger SRT8 and wanted to ask what precautions I should take before buying one. I work two jobs, so my car would spend a lot of time parked at work. I’m not struggling financially or anything, I just enjoy working a lot and know these cars are a big target for thieves nowadays.

At home I’m honestly not too worried I’ve got 4 “security guards” (my dogs lol). My main concern is while I’m at work or out running errands.

For the people who’ve had their Charger stolen, broken into, or even attempted thefts, what do you wish you would’ve done beforehand? What anti-theft measures actually help and what’s just a waste of money?

I’ve heard of things like:

* Kill switches

* AirTags/GPS trackers

* Steering wheel locks

* Neutral strap covers

* OBD port locks

* Aftermarket alarms

But I’d like to hear from actual owners on what’s worth doing immediately after buying one. Also, are there certain years/trims that get targeted more? Any habits you guys follow when parking at work or overnight? Just trying to enjoy the car without constantly stressing about it getting stolen.
