For now i just have the x4 and an ipad, im considering a larger e reader, but for now just those 2.

Id like to have a better way to sync the progress back and forth without having to manually find the exact point.

I believe that’s what koreader sync is for, i tried setting up calibre web (which i thought had kosync support) without much luck. I also optimize book when uploading to crossink and there’s always a message that doing so breaks certain types of sync. I would really like to keep using optimizing epubs.

I have experience self hosting stuff, but i don’t know much about all the epub/ereader tools like koreader, calibre, calibre-web, etc. Could someone point me in the right direction?

The kobo libra color ticks a lot of boxes for me, unfortunately, there is no BW version. I simply don’t have much use for color, and having a dimmer display for something i don’t really need seems wild

Ive found several alternatives to that e reader, its not really that. Im just wondering it im overthinking it. Color is nice, even if just for the cover. And it seems from reviews that a bit of front light largely reverses the dimming.

Id like to hear ppls experiences to gauge if i might be overreacting.

I already have an x4, when i bought it i wasn’t expecting to enjoy reading on it as much as i did, but figured i could tinker with it.

Im still curious about the tinkering part and honestly considering getting a second device just for that purpose.

I wanted to know if there were any resources for that, maybe specific firmwares for it or guides to develop my own?
