We have ~5L owed across 4 instruments. My wife is settling her PF. As part of it, she’s suggesting settling the owed amount (all of which is under my name). We are yet to legally solemnise the marriage as we’ve recently gotten married.

If we’re to move ahead with this, will this attract any sort of additional taxes, given she’ll have to transfer the amount to my account? What would be the best way to go about it?

On the other hand, if this is not a financially feasible option owing to tax implications, I was thinking of continuing the repayment and rather investing that amount in the market systematically in the next 6-12 months.

Any advice would be appreciated.
