Round 2.

Had my right foot done today. Identical procedures but it was different this time. My ankles decided to swell the night before because of a med I take. They don't always but of course before surgery. 🙄 The pre op meds hit a bit different and I was more aware going into the theater. There was a table with 3 guys counting things. Power drills, weird like molds or something and measurement like things. The OR nurse said "don't look at that stuff honey". Then they had me hop on the table and lights out after my prayer for school loans to be paid, pets to be spoiled, and food in the dining room.

This time she gave me the nerve block at the end of the surgery instead of during or before. So I awoke in actual pain, the first time I've had pain like that. I told the post op nurse and they put something in my IV and it was gone. Then as they were giving me snacks and drinks my foot got numb, like super numb. It's still numb. 🙏🏼

My walking boot is soooo much better than the last one. The back of my ankle is free to move as well as the top of my foot sort of. So I have a range of motion whilst only being able to walk on the heel. I can tell already it's going to be much better on my calf and ankle muscles. I'm a bleeder and soaked through my bandage just a little. Nothing major. This time I have stuff shoved between my toes. I can't really tell what. I was concerned because my toe was at a very weird angle. Post op nurse said they wrapped me tight and there are splints in the toes and to not even think about it until the stitches get removed.

I decided this time to lay up in bed versus couch. This allows me to avoid the five stairs to the loo. So far it's been a good idea.

I hope this foot goes on to be as life changing as the left. It is so weird to have pain for most of your life just to have it gone. You don't always realize how bad things hurt until that pain is just gone.

My gym is so awesome. He is not even charging me for June. Added another month to the end of my gym membership. I'm looking so forward to hiking and lifting without pain.
