3D scanning to improve learning?
Hi everyone! I recently somehow go spammed 3D scanners in my social media and its got me FOMOing but I wonder if its useful in my scenario.
It ultimately will be just an infrequently used toy for me, but I wonder how useful it would be in a learning environment.
For example, the master dog groomer at the dog grooming academy will cut dog wigs which is I think polyester? But pretty voluminous? Would a scanner like the POP 4 be able to handle that surface if it's cut really well?
Designs look like this: https://imgur.com/a/XbVXftT
I've used Polycam for this and the accuracy leaves much to be desired. https://poly.cam/capture/A63C9CAD-870A-4855-B433-4FD0BA00D0DB
I would love to be able to scan the mannequin then scan the finished design to obtain measurements at different areas - I think thats possible? I also wonder if I should just stick to better photogrammetry using my mirrorless camera instead of the phone camera and Polycam.
Thanks everyone!
