Questions about joining the Church & Certain Views
Hello all,
I'm feeling somewhat draw to join the Church but I'm concerned about my views on certain issues. In particular, I don't see homosexuality as a sin, am in favour of women's ordination, and am ok with artificial contraception.
That said, I also affirm all of the dogmatic claims of the Church (as far as I can tell), appreciate the office of the Pope and would be willing to be bound by the Pope's infallible teachings, believe that the Church has the fullness of faith with regards to the Eucharist, and am generally in alignment with Catholic spirituality (i.e., the communion of Saints, Virgin Mary, confession, etc).
So, what I'm asking is whether it is possible for me to join the Church in good conscience and to receive the Eucharist despite the first 3 views that I mentioned. I'm well studied on Catholic theology and have studied Aquinas' moral theology at the graduate level so I'm well aware of all of the arguments concerning natural law for the Church's position on these issues, I just genuinely am not persuaded by the arguments.
Any advice or experience with similar issues would be greatly appreciated!
