bulgarian split squats are stupidly effective and i resent them

So I started doing Bulgarian split squats again because everyone keeps saying they’re worth it.

unfortunately they are.

My glutes and quads are getting hit hard, but the soreness makes me want to skip the next lower body day. I’m going slow, controlled, not even doing that many sets, but somehow they still drain me way more than regular squats or lunges.

I’ll finish the workout thinking it was reasonable, then the next day stairs feel personal. Even sitting down feels like a small decision.

I want to keep them in because they clearly work, but I don’t want one exercise messing up the rest of my week.

Do I just need to lower the volume and adapt, or are Bulgarian split squats always this rude?
