New to photography, but so excited !
I got myself an R7 (on marketplace) and the rf 100-400mm lens and immediately headed to this pileated woodpecker cavity I found right by my house a couple days prior. Waited for a long while, encouraged by the sounds of light pecking I could hear inside until this guy emerged. He flew to a close tree and proceeded to do his thing letting me take these photos for a second. I fist bumped like it was the end of breakfast club when I saw the picture and walked up to my husband with I’m sure the biggest cheesing grin. I am NOT a professional I am as beginner as they come but it brought me so much joy and has scratched the itch of my unused wildlife degree to be out looking at birds. What an amazing way to spend some time looking at these incredible creatures!
