I’ve recently purchased and moved into an apartment in a small boutique complex (think around 6-8 lots). As the title suggests there is a communal storage building attached out the back. About half of the people living there are owner occupiers and the other half are renting. One owner occupier has taken over and dominated the shared storage area, 100% his belongings and has even built shelving for himself! The floor and all walls are completely taken over. It’s an absolute mess with no organisation, items stacked on top of eachother.

I want to know what I can do to amend this? As an owner occupier surely I’m entitled to an equal share of the space, and am also entitled to safe and organised usage of the space ? It’s so badly packed that something could fall on you everytime you open the door.

I was thinking of leaving a note on the wall in the foyer asking if it could be cleaned up and a space left for me, ideally I’d like to keep it away from any sort of strata / legal situation so as to not come off “aggressive” to start, but obviously if they don’t want to play ball I’m sure it’ll go that way?
