Nothing major..

I know it doesn’t count for much when it comes to government or federal jobs in the hiring process. But I put in two applications for the NPS in both were referred to the hiring manager. And I’ve done enough reading and research to know that being “referred” doesn’t guarantee anything. But I’m still excited that my application is moving through the system.

I know it doesn’t really mean a lot..

I know it isn’t a huge step or even guarantee anything, but both jobs I applied for with the NPS just sent me a notice of referral. I know it could stay at that status forever, but I am least happy that I passed the initial screening. Even small victories count!!

Should I just settle and be done?

I have been dealing with Workmen’s Comp. for almost 2 years. I’ve done several PT visits MRIs x-rays and the ortho doctor doesn’t see anything except for arthritis and bursitis. There was no arthritis before the injury to my shoulder. I had a nerve study done last year. I had a MMI visit and he gave me a 1% rating. After a couple months, the pain was getting worse so they done an MRI with contrast and it didn’t really show anything. So now he’s referred me to a neurologist. But to me, it doesn’t feel like it’s in the nerve. And of course, the neurologist that I can go see or over 3 hours away 1way. so I’ll have to miss a whole day of work to go to that appointment and any other follow ups. Because you know they’re not gonna do anything on the first visit. I’ll be driving six hours for a 15 minute appointment for them to schedule me with a follow up if they feel like they need to do anything. They originally offered me $1900 for a settlement with open medical. I just wanna settle a close medical and be done with it. No, I don’t have a Lawyer. I know I’m not gonna get rich. I’m not trying to I’m just ready to be done. I believe the injury triggered the onset of arthritis. In Tennessee doesn’t pay for pain and suffering so I’m just gonna be in pain from here on out and I’ve accepted that. Would it be worth it to just settle now?

The wait…

I know they say fire and forget. However, the wait is a struggle. I applied for 2 administrative jobs at the NPS. One on 7/16 and the other on 7/17. Both closed on 7/28. Applications say “Received”. Both were hiring thru the Field Unit Local program. Hopefully, I see an update soon. I’m just impatient I guess. 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

Applied for 2 positions and just looking for some insight.

I applied for 2 permanent positions at the NPS that were open to the public thru Field Unit Local. I’ve seen people say you may hear back sooner if it done by FUL. Applied 7/17 and job closed 7/28. Anyone have any experience with this or a timeframe?

Are the benefits any good and affordable? (Medical, dental, vision, etc)

Both are administration jobs. What kind of assessments should I expect if any?

Thank you in advance for any and all responses.

Hand loading

I’m sorry, but I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. That customers come in and want 80 to 90 bags of feed hand loaded into the bed of two separate pickup trucks because they didn’t want a pallet to scratch their truck bed. There were only two of us here one being the cashier so that left me having to load 87 bags of feed by hand between two different trucks and no help from the people that come and got it. Absolutely ridiculous.

Clearance event

Is everyone set up and ready for the clearance?? I’ve been listening to my SM and ASM argue over when it is. One says this weekend one says next weekend. But we’re getting it ready now just in case. 🤣🤣🤣

💥Union💥

The Union talk has basically disappeared. I know one store was trying to unionize. I don’t know if it ever became official or not.
With all the BS going at with TSC right now, do you think it would be beneficial to unionize?
Budget cuts, payroll cuts, unsafe work conditions, labor law violations, retaliation for reporting violations, etc.

Need to find some decent union reps and try to get something going. TSC is more of shit hole now than it use to be!

Confused

I need some help understanding something. Maybe I’m just dumb and can’t get it to make sense in my head. I had insurance through my employer. I canceled that insurance on May 21st. My husband got a job with better insurance. Well, my employer charged me for the insurance premium this week. We are paid every two weeks. And I was informed that I will be charged again for the premium on June 12. And then after that, I will not be charged again. They said that I am responsible for the month of May. So I asked if the premium was going to be prorated for the deduction on June 12. They said no. I don’t understand because they said that my insurance will effectively be canceled on May 31. But the June 12 check is from May 24 to June 7. So why am I paying for a week in June if I don’t have the coverage until June 7?

Settle claim

Been dealing with WC for over a year. Finally got a 2nd MRI (this one with contrast). It didn’t show anything other than osteoarthritis. No tears or anything. Now he wants me to go to a neurologist.
I messed up shoulder. Done PT, tons of dr visits, X-rays, MRI, nerve study and injections. The pain is still there. WC offered me a settlement in Oct based on 1% rating. I talked them into getting me a 2nd MRI. Idk what’s wrong. But I’m just over all the BS. The neurologist is over 3hrs away. Can I just tell WC I don’t wanna go to the neurologist and just settle? I’m just over it at this point.

Signage

Months ago Corp said we wouldn’t have as many ads anymore. WTF are they talking about? We have more now it seems. The Memorial Day ad was fucking huge!!! And the ad after Memorial Day is just as big!! Different ending promo dates. Every item in the store seems to have a sale sign!! Why the fuck are we putting up a sale sign for $.25 off?? That’s not a sale!!! And the new “Unbeatable “ signs are a joke! We all know TSC is way over priced compared to other stores.
An ad that big won’t be set in time with only one person doing it, closing early, and being a fucking holiday!!! They expect me to set an ad that big with only a 3 person crew!! Fucking idiots!
