The Aspects and their connection to the spirit gods (or lack thereof).
So I'm running a DND campaign set in Runeterra, obviously it being a DND campaign I can twist the lore to fit whatever I want, but while trying to figure out how a celestial aspect of Death might work, I got to wondering, and am curious if anybody has any information I'm missing out on, or if they have any ideas.
Basically, my big thought is, we know that the Aspects embody concepts like War, the sun, the moon, etc. We also know that Spirit Gods like Kindred "embody" aspects in a less direct way. I.E Kindred exists as a being representing death, but Kindred is one of several spirit gods representing it, so it certainly seems like the Aspects would have their own representation of death, and it's interesting that as far as I'm aware, we've had no crossover of aspect hosts/aspects and spirit gods. Spirit gods like Ornn, Voli, etc exist partially because stories of them "shaping" Runeterra exist, which I find odd considering they would have been at their most powerful before these stories existed, despite the fact that spirit gods power is directly related to how many people believe in them, to the extent that if they are forgotten they essentially die.
What I'm wondering is, if the Aspects or Aspect hosts, or celestials, or something didn't unintentionally create spirit gods. The idea being this - An Aspect, Celestial Being like bard, or something else from the celestial realm comes to Runeterra during sentient life's earliest days, they do some crazy shit, which is seen by mortals, who begin to tell stories, and these stories lead to the creation of the spirit gods, who essentially "become" what the stories were.
The example I was thinking of when I was brainstorming was the Grey Man. We don't know much about the Grey Man beyond that he allegedly split himself in two, but it's implied that Fiddlesticks (one of the oldest spirit beings in Runeterra) acknowledges the Grey Man, indicating that at some point, some entity known as the Grey Man 100% existed. So my thought process is, at some point, some host representing Death was on Runeterra, presumably doing SOMETHING related to death. Perhaps putting people out of their misery, killing those attempting to circumvent death, etc. This entity would be the "Grey man", and stories passed down about the Grey Man would eventually lead to Kindred. In this hypothetical, it's possible that after people began to worship and believe in this "death entity", that the Aspect of Death saw no need to send a host to Runeterra, as the very belief of mortals led to the creation of entities that could do the job for them.
The basic idea being a Celestial being was the host of the Aspect of Death, they traveled Runeterra, did death related things, stories began to show up, perhaps their touch was enough to kill somebody, stories went around about how lonely they were (since people assume touch of death = loneliness), and at some point the story of Kindred was that this being split himself in two and created Kindred, and those stories brought life to the idea of Kindred, and belief in Kindred has led to Kindred being much more significant than other gods of death.
Obviously it doesn't really matter if it's canon or not for my purposes, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing that makes this completely impossible.
