trying to find mystery kids or young adult book from the 2010’s
Fair warning, my memory is pretty blurry in this one but i’ll do my best. From what small bits I remember, the book had this part where this girls dog is kidnapped by a bully and she goes out to get it back. She and the bully are in this garage and something happens and she blacks out. When she comes to her bully had been hit over the head with a paint can or something heavy. Everyone thinks she did it since there was no other suspects. In court it’s proven she can’t even carry the paint can so they deem her innocent, but many people still believe she’s the culprit. At the end of the book it’s revealed her (older??) brother had done it. He might’ve been autistic too? I really don’t remember a ton from this, but i hope this jogs someone memory.
