Greetings from Brazil - an Entered Apprentice curious about how your Lodge works
Brethren,
I am an Entered Apprentice from Lodge Tradicao e Igualdade No. 2186, Orient of Ubatuba, on the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil, under the Grand Orient of Brazil (GOB-SP). We work the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
Something I have been thinking about since my initiation: I only know one way of doing this, and I would like to understand how differently it is done elsewhere. Not the parts we do not speak of - I mean everything around them.
A few things I am curious about:
- What rite does your Lodge work, and how did it come to be the one used in your country?
- How often do you meet, and how is a regular meeting usually arranged?
- For those who have visited a Lodge abroad: what surprised you most? What felt entirely familiar?
- How are Apprentices instructed where you are? Here we have a good deal of study and written work.
I read English well enough, though I write it with help. Any brother who would like to correspond is very welcome.
Fraternally, Fabio
