Weft displacement from loom tension
I’m working on my metal 4 shaft table top loom and realized that while I weave the textile touching the edge of the tension bar is having its weft displaced by the pressure. For reference I’m using a non mercerized cotton for the warp and a mercerized cotton for the weft, which could by why it’s so slippery?
Is there something I’m doing specifically causing this? It hasn’t happened on my other metal loom works. If not, is there a way I can readjust the fibers when I undress my loom? The only two things I can think of is either needle pick shift them back into place, or hope it shimmies back together in the wash.
Attached is a pic of course, where you can see it actively happening and then the first break on my dowel. Apologies if any of my terminology is off, I’m teaching myself and have realized most terms are location and media specific!
