Having my PVC ablation this Wednesday ,any last minute tips or reassurance?

Hey everyone,

After dealing with highly symptomatic PVCs that completely ruined my sleep and quality of life, I’ve finally decided to take the leap. My PVC ablation is scheduled for this Wednesday here in Dubai.

My burden is quite high (around 33% on Holter), so my doctor told me the ectopic focus should be very active and easy to map and zap.

The doctor mentioned that the procedure will be done under local anesthesia (conscious sedation) rather than general anesthesia, and that I’ll need to stay in the hospital for 24 hours under monitoring post-procedure before being discharged.

To be honest, I’m a bit anxious about being awake during the catheterization, and about the overall recovery process. For those who had a PVC ablation under local anesthesia:

• What does it actually feel like when they map or zap the focus?

• Any tips on how to manage anxiety on the table?

• What should I pack or expect for the 24-hour hospital stay?

I would highly appreciate any reassurance, tips, or success stories to help me get through the next 48 hours. Thank you all! 🙏❤️
