
Flight seat on online check in on website and reserved seat on Trip.com different
I have 2 seats are allocated on trip.com from london to shanghai to specific seats for me and my girlfriend, which it states has been "confirmed" and "secured" next to each other, however on the online check in on china eastern website states one of them has been reserved, while the other is available to be purchased. I wouldn't care if these arent my actual seats and they allocate my other 2 seats to another person, while leaving us to sit with each other elsewhere in the plane. However, there are no free seats next to each other and are all middle seats, while the rest of 2 seats next to each other are available for purchase. I am currently just looking to check in at the desk with my luggage and asking about it there.
If anyone has been through the same process, could you let me know how the process typically goes (specifically with china eastern if possible) as this is my first intercontinental flight and using the check in desk, so I'm fully unsure of the full process and their leniency on certain topics.
