Is my Ragdoll unhappy?

I adopted a sweet ragdoll boy last autumn, but I am worried he's bored and not happy.

The main reasons for this are:

  • Excessive vocalisation
  • Extreme clinginess

He is very bonded to me. He sleeps on my bed every night and loves to follow me around, but I'm starting to doubt whether I'm the right owner for him. I live alone so he only has me for contact. I WFH 3 days a week so he is never home alone too long.

I have done a load of research, watched Jackson Galaxy videos etc. and I am struggling to think of any other ways to make him happy.

Things I have done to try to make him happier:

  • Multiple window perches/hammocks
  • Cat tree
  • Puzzle feeders, ceramic lick mat etc.
  • Regular playtime with a wand toy
  • Lots of cardboard scratchers
  • Automatic toys

- Cat tunnels and various other toys

  • Harness trained him

Things that could help but I can't offer:

  • Catio
  • A second cat

I'm feeling at a bit of a loss with what to do, the only other things I could think would be to expand his cat wall or speak to a cat behaviourist. I'm worried I'm failing him as an owner and he might be happier somewhere else. He's been vet checked and is healthy so I don't think it's anything medical.
