Can I ask what everyone is thinking about coaching this coming school year? After everything that happened with the government, I’m surprised we’re still expected to volunteer 3–6 hours of our own time every week. At my school it’s essentially compulsory, so I’ll do it, especially as a new teacher(to the school), but I can’t help wondering whether we’ve learned anything. That’s hours a week away from our own families. Is anyone else struggling with this, or is it just accepted as part of the job?
