Trading in advice.

My fiance would laugh at me being here to ask this question. He was an amazing car salesman that adored his job, but recently passed very unexpectedly at 27. Excuse my lack of car knowledge- he handled everything for us, but I have a burning question.

We both own our own Tesla model 3’s long range AWD. His is a 2021, mine 22. He was upside down when he bought his and I’m not sure how much he still owed at the time of his passing. It’s a year older than mine, I was not upside down and put quite a bit down, now only owing around 16-17k left on mine.

His dealership wants to buy his car back. It is only in his name, so I’m assuming they purchase it from the bank when I take it back? It needs a new windshield and some work that I am willing to put in to keep it. It’s so sentimental to me. He adored his car and took such great care of it. I would love to trade mine in for his.

Realistically, what is the possibility of trading my car in for his if my credit score is below 600? Since he has passed I have had a rough time with finances, but am still able to make my payments on time and have the option of a co-signer (my father) with a score over 700. Is there a possibility of a cheaper payment with it being older, having around 10k more miles, or is this a stupid question? Should I expect to pay quite a bit out of pocket if I am able to trade mine, as I did when i purchased with a down payment?

He was with me when I purchased mine and I should’ve asked more questions, I just always expected him to be here by my side to assist. I know nothing about car buying or trading. Any advice or anything at all is appreciated- I figured it would be helpful to ask here instead of going in blind at his dealership. If I need to provide any extra information please let me know!
