I am needing to rewire my house and want to take the opportunity to add an EV charger (I don't have an EV yet). The consumer unit is in the middle of the house in a cupboard and the driveway at the front. Cables for the ev charger would have to be run under floorboards to the location on the outside wall in front where the charger will be located. When I read installation notes from EV charger companies it seems they can install from the consumer unit, but since I am doing a rewire I think it's best to get the electrician to run the cables. How have others handled this?
