I'll probably get crucified and downvoted for asking question that people will be quick to point that I already have the answer to.

I bought a utility submersible pump which cannot be returned if opened. I opened the box to take a look at cord length and realized that it will be too short for my need. Didn't even take the pump out. I removed the actual seal and open the box.

So, yes, I did open the box and wording is very clear that I cannot return the box.

I am just wondering if anyone has had similar experience and able to return a clearly unused pump or managers maybe lenient to a certain extend?
