As a kid, I would get chronic ear infections all the time. It got to the point where I had a surgery where they put tubes in my ears and had a Adenoidectomy due to I believe an enlarged adenoid (I was snoring even when my mouth was closed). Ever since that surgery I have had ear problems. Every time I yawn, chew, or swallow, my ears pop. It’s really annoying, everything gets weirdly loud but muffled, I sound different, and I’m able to hear my heartbeat. In order to alleviate this, I have to sniffle hard enough to pop my ears back to normal. Every time I’m sick one of my ears gets clogged up with fluid and it can be so hard to hear out of that ear. I had this surgery when I was around 8 years old and I am now 20. I have been dealing with this for over a decade now, I’m very self conscious about my sniffling and I’m so worried people think my sniffling is annoying. I have talked to my doctor about it where she prescribed Flonase, but it did absolutely nothing for me. I’m curious if this is even ETB, or if this is something entirely different? I’ve also noticed my balance isn’t great (I could never ice skate or roller skate for the life of me, surfing was also a no-go). Whatever I have has caused me a lot of distress, and I wish it could go away, but I’m afraid this might be permanent.
