Faraway Dawn seems to be those "everyone know but not saying anything" kind of game. That it was untranslated didn't help in the slightest. However it was the only part of the franchise focused on Niigata prefecture. And I don't have the luxury to access it.

As I understand, the sequence went like this:

1. BETA made a landfall in February
2. BETA also explicitly changed it's behaviour from full frontal assault to split and diversion.
3. This is why Faraway Dawn is extremely hard
4. ????
5. BETA conquest on Niigata halted, the prefecture is saved.

is there any plot sequences or characters worth noting in this process, or it's just plotless turn based game with stages?

Rewatching Total Eclipse again and like, yeah, ALL Muvluv characters have personality flaw. Yuuya himself is a hypocritical racist asshole with victim complex and Yui might be a cunt although at least everything she said was objectively correct.

They got better. Boy do they got better.

But you can't just introduce your group with a legitimate rape threat and expect me to sympathise with your fucking plight lmao. Good riddance.

Correct me if I'm wrong but my brain got fried reading too much and understanding very little. But basically it went like this?

1. Type 94 Shiranui was supposed to be mass produced and rushed into production, but it still end up not being produced at sufficient rate. Gekishit remain in service.
2. Not enough units can be produced for training school use, so they pressed Type 97 Fubuki into the role (originally being testbed platform and basically being stripped down Shiranui)
3. Fast forward, Project Prominence
4. They decided that even more advanced Shiranui 2nd is better as Gekishin replacement
5. Because Phase 3 is just YF-23 with Japanese parts slapped on, Phase 2 is more likely to be used as the basis.
6. So instead of mass producing Fubuki they instead aim even higher for units that probably perform almost on par with the bottom tier Type 00, and very likely to be expensive and harder to produce... to replace increasingly aging Gekishit

Is this right or did I make a grave mistake somewhere?
