Working in the power industry

Hello everyone, I'm making this post to ask for some guidance. I graduated last year as a EE and I'm currently looking for a entry level job in the power industry. I didn't take a lot of power courses since I initially intended to work in telecom, but eventually changed my mind, so I've been studying in my free time from the book Power System Analysis (Glover).

I would like to ask people in the industry about their experience, what software/skills do you usually use in your job to study (e.g. autocad electrical/blueprint reading and writing), and what kind of entry level jobs are good for learning the technical side of the trade.

I realize this is a broad topic. I'd really appreciate to read about other people's experience. Thanks in advance.
