My front steps and a small porch were suppoerted by four poured concrete footers when the house was built 25 years ago. Unfortunately, the ground wasn't properly compacted and the footers have sunk a few inches over the years. A few inches on a long stair run makes a big difference! Navigating the stairs that were pitched forward was very challenging.

So I completely removed the four original supports and replaced with six new supports - each comprised of a concrete deck block, an adjustable post base, and a 4 x 4 beam. These are all in place, rock solid and the deck/stairs are level again. None of these posts will be visible once the skirting is installed.

I'd like to put horizontal siding between new 4 x 6 posts on either side of the porch. They need to be tied to the porch fascia with Simpson Strong Ties hardware. That part is easy - but I end up essentially suspending the 4 x 6 posts from the porch. I need to support them from the bottom. They don't need to be structural. They will support the siding only - not taking any weight of the porch/stairs.

Is there any simple way to have an adjustable support at the bottom of these "decorative" posts? They will be visible so I don't want a traditional adjustable post base. Ideas?
