Hi(TX), Today I have received a letter claiming it was from the Texas Health and Human Services Comission. It came in an envelope that was taped down, from the back side with only a single paper in it.

It claimed I was being investigated for overpayment in Snap, TNAF, Medicaid or WIC services.

It does not show a total amount that I was overpaid and what to pay back.

It gives an address that does not match the facilities, that is out that way, a time and date of an appointment. It also shows what looks like a cellphone number, a possible investigator name, and a fax number, with a random case number I have never seen before. It doesn't show my case number, it doesn't show any emails, or other addresses.

I chose not to call it today and instead called 211. That lady said, she saw nothing on my case showing an investigation, everything looked correct, and she couldn't match any numbers in had given to her in the system. She did say however, sometimes they can not see things on their side if there is an investigation. I have everyone in my household on my case, I have sumbit everything to date, we lost our medicaid and now having to go to CHIP. I am just... scared and... I was just wondering if I should be very very concerned.

Does anyone know if this is a scam going on? I am so afraid of calling this random number.
