Anyone familiar with Tachypsychia?

GATE kid here in late 80’s an early 90’s.

Throughout the years, I would experience what I later came to understand is called Tachypsychia. At times I would experience this strange sensation where time itself seemed to be going wayyyy faster than normal, but also in a sort of slow motion simultaneously. I know that sounds strange, but I I don’t know how else to describe it. My body would get cold, my heart rate would slow, and I could tell what was about to be said, or what was about to happen a few seconds before it actually happened. Not quite like Deja Vu, because Deja vu makes you feel like you’ve experienced that moment before. This experience is not like that, I don’t feel like I’ve done it before, I’m just hyper aware you could say.

As an adult, this is now something I can trigger, and experience on command. My vision will have the appearance of a vignette camera filter, if that makes sense. Almost like tunnel vision I suppose. I’ve used this to this my advantage, when I decided I wanted to teach myself how to write code. Sometimes locking in for 14 hour coding sprints. But every time I do trigger this, it is completely mentally exhausting if I stay in this state longer than an hour. It’s like I am drained of every type of energy that your body can hold, and I just fall asleep.

Anyway, maybe I’m the only one that experiences this, but thought this would be a place to ask about this.
