(37M) recently diagnosed stage 4 with met to the liver
Very overwhelmed with how fast and fluid this situation has been. It’s been less than 10 days since I found out I had a tumour and I’m getting my port put in next week. Obviously going to have lots of questions but for now I wanted to ask anyone about their experience with the port. I’m a pretty active guy, play sports, go out hiking etc. I understand that the chemo itself is going to allow that stuff down but does the port itself cause issues? Specifically playing hockey has been a huge help with my mental health, I’m really hoping I can sneak in some skating while I’m feeling okay.
Edit:
Thank you so much to everyone for their advice, experience, and kind words. I know this is a serious diagnosis but I can’t help but feel like this thing is beatable and I’m going to try to approach every day with that mindset. I’m sure I’ll be back with more questions and hopefully to pass on the kindness and advice to anyone else. Fuck Cancer.
