Apologies if this is in the wrong subreddit, but I assume there are others here that may be in the same position...
My small block removed Moreland in 2022 via a RTM. However, they never transfered a £16k surplus fund and have spent significant amounts of it since 2022 on insurance, ficticious invoices etc, and have also instructed debt collectors (twice) for alleged outstanding service charges etc.
I had enough of trying to negotiate directly with them so started a claim through the Property Ombudsman last year and also started preparing a case to take to the First Tier Tribunal. Today, I received an email fro the PO stating Moreland had gone into liquidation, and therefore my case had been closed.
I presume there are no other routes available without incurring significant legal costs? I think I am owed around £1,400 by this corrupt company. Also, if they were claiming service charge was outstanding at the time of their liquidation, I assume that at the time I need consent to transfer ownership of the lease they will claim this outstanding balance will need to be settled given the freeholder is a connected company? I suspect I will never see my share of the client surplus funds.
I have never come across a more corrupt company and bunch of crooked directors and employees.
