Alright after I thought about it for some time I partially rewrote my Energies system :(

Originally I was going to add an "Elemental" system. But rather than being part of the material world, they were magical forces manipulated by a caster to alter their environment. And then I realised that if I wanted to still keep to Fire Water Earth Wind and those kinds of things, I was gonna have an issue of listing every single Energy that was specified. So I ended up changing it into a combat analysis system

Its not used in studies and formal scholars' publishings, but more of a way to determine the method of combat. If they increased the temperature it was Pricalor. If they manipulated the ground to their will they were Teminera. All Energies are those most primarily used and seen. For example, you can manipulate other liquids, but water is the most widely used due to its presence in many things.

Sorry if its chaotic, if you wanna suggest something to add, please do!

I may need some help on the "Elemental" system I have

Energies are the equivalent of the generic "elements". Instead of being the fabric of the universe, however, an Energy is a power or force that can shift and alter the environment of a magic user who enforces their willpower upon their surroundings.
There are many Energies, as there are many things that can be manipulated in the material world. However, some Energies have been said to control that on the mind and spirit.
Energies are horribly named due to the common folk interpreting them as something else related to their base form. For example, what they deem "Fire" is in fact the manipulation of heat for it to increase.

The thing is, after I finished making this, I realised that I needed one for Earth, or Wind. Do I just make things up like "Certain minerals and elements are manipulated but not the entire ground itself" or do I just make an entirely different Energy for those other ones?

I made this magic system for the game concept I'm making, posted this a while back in r/worldbuilding

Firstly, what is the definition of magic? It has been a debated question for many centuries in my world's timeline, and its one of those philosophical questions that seem basic but is not so easy to put into words. Its like the basic question of life. We can define magic as something supernatural defying the laws of the natural order and mechanisms for the operation of the world. Once the definition of magic is done, we have to face the reasons it works. Why does it happen? Eventually this has led writers and philosophers to have been known to jump off their study balconies in utter despair. Eventually, a group of writers agreed that magic was based off the will and desire to control and manipulate, meaning this would link it to the Imagination, an Ideal that was once thought to play little role in the universe. Eventually, Mavia, the power in living beings or artifacts to use magic, was discovered.

After that, there are the Energies. Unlike Elements, which are the material fabric of the universe, Energies are the powers that can change the surroundings they have the user's will concentrated upon. Fire is not an Element. It is a change in the air, causing combustion. There are several methods of manipulation of magic, such as Levitation of Earth, that are linked to such Energies. In this case, Levitation is the manipulation of the Gravity of the surrounding, not the Earth itself.

Now there is the power of usage. Mavia. Think of the body as a maze that you can customise to your wishes. You can block off passages, open new exits, and even add to the breathtaking complex. At the center is your Mavia, which is practically infinite but usage depends on the ability of the user to handle the immense power. Now, when you cast a spell, you open the gates of your Mavia pool by an amount, to generate the power for the spell. The Mavia is free flowing, you cannot directly control it, but you can use the maze around it to control where it goes! You can block and open the passages or change the walls of your maze, but be careful not to make sharp turns or send the Mavia to the wrong places. This is how casting fails. The Mavia is like a stream of water flowing through a pipe. One wrong design failure, and whoops! You made a supersonic water stream cutter. In this case, the Mavia either goes out the wrong exit and the resulting spell is extremely unstable, or it basically just smashes through the walls of the maze to pick its own route.

Then there are spell scrolls, spell circles and incantations that people use to help cast spells. They don't directly cast the spell by themselves, they are basically there to allow the person to imagine the maze of their Mavia. Spell circles or scrolls inscribed on something do not exude any magical power. Unless the person uses the circles or scrolls as their medium to cast, they do not do anything special, like lift of the ground and start spinning and glowing with whooshing noises. If you see a caster with spell circles surrounding them in midair, just light (Not pure light because the light needs a medium to shine through), then their concentration probably causes the surrounding dust/debris to rise up and show said concentration through that. Many researchers are still finding the exact details into this phenomenon, but its hard to get someone to willingly exhaust themselves over casting a spell so the researchers can observe close up.

Using magic through a weapon is a related but slightly different story. Think of anything, a wand, a sword, a staff, whatever you want to use to cast, and then imagine it as a computer. You enter code into the computer, commanding it to carry out a task. The spell is the code. The tricky part is getting the spell in there, and somehow making it come out of the weapon. This is difficult because the object is usually inanimate (Casting using companions or animals is not that common, but exists), and it does not have a will to carry it to the outside world. This bottleneck often makes casters use the good old classic of barehanded spellwork, though those who don't feel good with aim, damage or looks can still use weapons.

So yeah, there's my concept for magic. Sorry if its long or chaotic.

Ideals: The Rules and Laws of Existence

This is my first post here, so I'd like to talk about one of the key concepts of my world.

Ideals serve as the framework of reality, and all the rules and restraints in place are built around the Ideals. All Ideals were created during the Primordial Genesis, when the conception of the world's framework began. If one followed the concept of an Ideal, they could be able to wield the power associated with it.

There are 21 Ideals, they being split into three groups: Dawn, Dusk and Twilight Ideals. Dawn Ideals are generally positive for the neutral mind to perceive, Dusk relatively negative (Two exceptions are Time and Space). To be a Dawn or Dusk Ideal, the Ideal needs another to counter it. Twilight Ideals are generally those who are neither able to be perceived positive nor negative.

When all Ideals directly harmonise or 'sync' in terms where they align, that will result in Harmonia, a state where there is no conflict but one singular rule. This is near impossible to imagine, and has not occurred yet.

Each Ideal is governed and overseen by Manifestations, each representing their respective Ideal. They are entities appeared during the Primordial Genesis along with the Ideals themselves, and have no apparent material forms.

However, during the Primordial Genesis, there emerged from the conflicting Ideals another entity. The Disorder. Its sole purpose and goal is to cause discord between all Ideals, leading to another, equally incomprehensible outcome: The Disharmony, where all Ideals conflict with each other, allowing nothing by chaos to exist.

Here is a list of different Ideals and their representation:

Dawn Ideals

Creation: The forging of something's material and physical existence.

Balance: When one concept or object is countered by another.

Knowledge: The acknowledgement and comprehension of a provable reason or fact.

Life: The state of being alive, to be able to be aware, think and conduct actions in one's physical body.

Freedom: To be independent, without anything holding or binding one down.

Peace: The state of no conflict, to be free of disagreement or clashes.

Time: The passage of period and instance and the events occurring in between.

Dusk Ideals

Annihilation: The destruction and total obliteration of anything material in a state of being.

Chaos: The state of being erratic and uncontrollable, without any rhyme or reason to be so.

Mystery: The shrouding of what should be known or the warping of the truth.

Death: To be free and clear of any life, not being able to control one's physical body to do material actions.

Restraint: The forcing to reign in one's freedom, to not be able to do everything one wills.

Wrath: The cause of conflict and the ferocity of differences.

Space: The endless vessel of material, the vastness of the room where the world resides.

Twilight Ideals

Journey: The path to a certain point or goal, and the distance or lengths one has travelled to arrive at the destination.

Fate: The path of the future to a point, what lies ahead in time.

Memory: The events in the past, the remembrance and recollection of what has gone by.

Imagination: One's will and creativity, to ponder upon something.

Restoration: The reversal to something's original state.

Eternity: The infinite loop of events, endlessly occurring over and over.

Celebration: The elation, joy or happiness of one.

The image shows the symbols of each Ideal, however it has been unfinished and is not the final conception.

It's kinda late of a mention, but along with kicking people off the treadmills after completion, there is this small update that reduced Bassie's efficiency

Lemme explain for those who don't have Bassie/those who don't understand: Part of Bassie's usefulness in a run is her ability to transport extraction items to other players. And this is pretty obviously something that kinda ruins it.

Usually, people just press "E" or the associated keybind to pick up the item and use it. It makes things faster and less complicated. But with this update, players have to get off a machine to pick up an item, hop on, and THEN use it to maximise the usage. And if Bassie drops numerous items, this may be a slightly slow process that also may leave some items unused
