Subfloor

Subfloor

Would you match the thickness of the current subfloor, or go thicker? The current subfloor is 1/2in. There was a 3/4in of particle board on top, a 1/4in of sureply, and a thin vinyl sheeting. Would I need to do anything additional if I go with the 3/4in, or still just cut up to the wall, install my blocking, and lay it?

Help!

I set out to replace the subfloor in my bathroom because the toilet leaked and caused mold. I learned that there’s a 3/4in layer of particle board with only a 1/2 layer of subfloor. A 3/4in of plywood doesn’t even fit snugly where the particle board was.

Remove the shower?

I’m changing some subfloor in my bathroom. I initially looked in to check the floor, but saw the insulation. It’s an acrylic shower. Should I remove this? I did just see something about filtration dust, but I’m not sure if it’s that. There are no leaks.

I have a small bathroom at the corner of my house that needs subfloor replacement. Is there anything that I should consider regarding load bearing? I pretty much have everything to do the job except the wood. I could maybe use another tool to help pull up the old floor.
