hi there,

I hope to save some money and do some restoration work on my couch. I don’t have prior experience in this and did not find tutorials online pertaining to my couch type.

I have an old, mid century modern style couch. The fabric on top has separated from the frame so I think I’ll use a staple gun to put it in place. I have to get a new fabric for the bottom of the couch but so, I noticed this really weird filling. I don’t know if there has been more of that in the past but right now it is empty. I’m wondering what I should put between the spring and the bottom fabric, if anything? let me know if I’m not making sense and feel free to tell me if i am approaching the project all wrongs thank you kindly for your help!
