Story Time: my younger sister recently wanted to try out deltarune since all her friends were playing it, but the problem was she had never played undertale before so she asked me to sit with her through a playthrough and help when needed to make it go quicker. things were going well at first, she only needed help with the giant floor puzzle and she spared every enemy without assistance. then we got to toriel. she tried running awa, talking many times in a row, and almost stumbled upon the solution by pressing spare repeatedly but didn’t get quite far enough. I decided she needed to experience this so I refused to give her the solution, simply sayin “you know what you need to do” after she got to toriel’s dialogue of “fight me or run away!” in the end, she ended up killing toriel and I told her if she restarted the game without saving she could try again (I think you can see where this is going.) i told her the solution the second time around, but when flowey told her he knew what she did, my sister got so scared she hasn’t touched the game since. it’s been 8 months and she was 16 at the time
