I have a small butterfly (~2 inches) that has been drying for just over a week in the same conditions as other specimens but isn’t close to dry yet as the wings still flex when the paper pushing them down is lifted. All the other specimens were larger and have already dried. Could injecting the body of the butterfly with acetone then allowing it to dry speed up to drying process by forcing out fluids that take longer to evaporate?

I recently pinned some beetles and butterflies and am not sure how to tell when the butterflies are dry or what the best way to dry them is. Historically I’ve let the beetles dry in a cardboard box for 2 weeks with silica gel but am currently all out of it. What would be the best way to dry the beetles and butterflies and how can I tell when the butterflies are dry?
